Funds are defined by a standard set of restrictions or types called Fund Restrictions. Generally, Fund Restrictions are set-up during your initial implementation.

Fund Restrictions can include:

  • Unrestricted (U)
  • Temporarily Restricted (TR)
  • Permanently Restricted (PR)
  • Illiquid Assets

Once a Default Restriction is assigned to a Fund you can not change it unless there are no grants or scholarships associated with the fund.

To verify the restrictions in your database you can run a report by the specified Fund Restrictions. Within financials, you can access a summary of your Funds by their Fund Restriction by running a Fund Balance.

  • Select Fund Balance from the left side of your screen to see the Funds at your foundation broken out by the total assets held plus any restrictions and the principle and spendable balances.
