Grant Cards Overview

Grant Cards are digital gift cards that people can use to pay for items in the Online Donations page.

Before using this feature, make sure to set your default Grant Card Expense account, and default Grant Card Liability account, in system default accounts.

 The Grant Cards feature has two layers of functionality:

Internal/Manual Grant Cards

Set aside money from an existing fund, and issue grant cards against the amount.

This option creates an internal grant for the amount that is set aside.

  1. Select Grant Cards from the Home page.
  2. Click Create Group.
  3. Enter a grant card group Name, Post Date (if different than the current date), Amount, Fund, and Expense Account (if different from your default Grant Card Expense, and Grant Card Liability accounts in system default accounts).
  4. Click Process.

Public Grant Cards

Designate a specific grant card fund, and allow the public to purchase grant cards from the Online Donations page.

This option creates a donation when a grant card is purchased by the public.

  1. Select Grant Cards from the Home page.
  2. Click Configure.
  3. Click Setup.
  4. Enter the name of the Fund that grant card purchases (donations) should be applied to.
  5. Click Save.
